Arsenal Beat 10 Man Leicester At The Death
In what will go down as the most thrilling match of the Barclay’s Premier League this season, Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners over Leicester.
Despite dominating possession early on, Arsenal conceded a penalty after Monreal strick out a leg. Jamie Vardy stepped up and sent Petr Cech the wrong way.
At half time, Arsenal hadn’t managed a shot on target and the second half began with Arsenal showing more initiative.
Uultimately, what changed the complexion of the game was Leicester’s Danny Simpson receiving his marching orders for a foul on Giroud
At 10 men, Leicester chose to take off Mahrez and Okazaki and left Vardy isolated upfront.
Arsenal threw on Walcott onto the fray, sacrificing Coquelin who had already picked up a yellow card.
Walcott drew the game level after a Giroud header fell his way and he guided the ball past Schmeichel.
With the game in its dying embers, Arsenal seemed unable to score the decisive winner.
Winning a free kick in the last minute of extra time, Welbeck tucked in a header to provide the winner.
