Selena Gomez Confesses She Was Completely ‘Heartbroken’ After Justin Bieber Split

The days of Jelena seem to be officially over, but is Selena Gomez still writhing in heartbreak? In a new interview, Sel couldn’t help confessing just how bad Justin Bieber hurt her after they split for good. See what she had to say about getting her heart broken here!
We all know the saga that was the Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber relationship, but what we haven’t been so exposed to is how much of an affect their split had on Sel. While the 23-year-old singer may be sick of that “Same Old Love” now, there was a time where Selena hit a pretty rough low from having her heart broken by Justin, 21 — and she isn’t afraid to share the emotional details!
“At first I didn’t care,” Sel told W magazine about the publicity of her relationship with Justin. “To me it was: I’m 18, I have a boyfriend, we look cute together, we like that. Then I got my heart broken and I cared. Because people had no idea what was going on, but everywhere it was a million different things.”
As if going through the heartbreak wasn’t painful enough, Selena emphasized that having the whole ordeal in the public eye left her feeling lost. “I was kind of in a corner, banging my head against the wall,” she added. “I didn’t know where to go.”

Poor Sel! Despite how much pain she had to deal with because of Justin, though, Selena evidently hung on to the hope that they might not be completely done. After being on and off for three years, the past heartbreak seemed to not matter when they were spotted together at a Beverly Hills hotel on Nov. 20, where Justin serenaded her and they even showed off some PDA.
But that reunion was short lived, and suddenly Selena her broken heart came back into play. After telling Rolling Stone that she’s done talking about Justin period, she admitted the same thing to W. “I’m so exhausted,” she told the mag. “I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can’t do it anymore.”

As if those bold statements aren’t enough to prove that she’s finally moving on from JB, her latest album Revival helped declare that as well. Plus, she has been spotted holding hands with a hot sales exec named Samuel Krost multiple times, so it certainly seems like Selena’s heartbreak is no longer a setback — and we couldn’t be happier for her!
